Economic Development
Aller Skill Center
The Aller Skill Center is the focal point of our economic development. The center provides training in welding, carpentry, concrete work, research & development, design, and fabrication.
Built in 2010, this 6,000 sq.ft. facility employees more than 15 residents with living wage jobs. The Aller Center manufactures, improved woodstove technology, Aller Stoves, student desks, teaches desks, white boards, pilas and cots. The team has also been instrumental in providing repairs and upgrades to the Barillas municipality and hospital.
As we expand our economic development program, our goal is to train more individuals through the village network in the fields of agriculture, forestry, construction, solar technology and small business management. Through our expanded education programs, we see that adult education is the key to self-reliance in the village network.
